All I want for Christmas is $50,000. Is that so wrong?
Really, all I want for Christmas is $50,000. Not for me butfor Highlands Church. Personally, I’ll be happy with some new socks and some books but I really want to see our church be able to move beyond the wobbly toddle of being two year’s old to being able to walk with better balance and confidence as we develop into our third year.
I want to be able to support our staff better, to advertise our move to North High well, cover all the expenses that go into a big move and maximize our impact among our new neighbors. I want our church to develop a deeper reserve so we can make plans for the future without having to think, “If we’re still viable”. I want everyone who is part of Highlands to experience increased personal growth, a deeper faith, and stronger connections to one another as a community that can change our part of God’s world.
I know you’re all tempted to buy me the socks, but if all of us would consider making a generous donation toward our Year End Giving goal of $50,000, well, that would just make this Christmas… even better than a pair of wick drying SmartWool socks.
If you’re in town, I hope you’ll be able to join us for the Christmas Eve service at 4:30. If you are away, I hope you have a wonderful time with family and friends. Remember, you’ll be able to catch the Christmas Eve service after it’s posted on our website, www.highlandschurchdenver.orgwhere you can also give online if you’re able to help us reach our Year End Giving goal of $50,000. The socks are optional.
Nothing but love,
Mark
